Even by Hollywood's standards, the summer movie season has been notable for boys blowing up their toys: No sooner did Robert Downey Jr. almost destroy L.A. to save it in "Iron Man 3" than an onslaught of wanton destruction was loosed on the world, from such interstellar fantasies as "Star Trek Into Darkness" and "Man of Steel" to the "real world" mayhem of "White House Down" and "Fast & Furious 6."
